LOCATION: Ely, Cambridgeshire

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

HOURS OF WORK: 0900 -1700 Monday to Friday

SALARY: Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)

 

My client based in Ely is a market leader in the development, design and manufacture of highly accurate and robust quality (sampling) and quantity (metering) devices for the oil & gas industry.

In the last 4-5 years this prestigious employer has had impressive financial success and global presence which has led to them requiring an experienced, technical, Project Engineer, preferably with a history of working on multiple, multi-million pound bespoke engineering packages for the oil and gas industry.

 

The Role:

 

We are seeking an experienced Project or Package Engineer, preferably with a history of working on multiple, multimillion pound bespoke engineering packages for the oil and gas industry.

The Project / Package Engineer will be responsible for the engineering requirements to enable the successful

completion of the project. He/she will provide control of and report on, the engineering deliverables on the project and will ensure that the technical content of documentation meets the requirements to allow engineering and manufacturing to be completed to satisfy the client’s expectations.

 

Main Duties:

       Manage the engineering of the project

       Ensure all phases of engineering are carried out to meet the project schedule and budget

       Lead Design Review, Constructability & HAZOP, P&ID, GA, Process, Mechanical, E&I, Controls meetings etc.

       Manage implications of technical changes and ensure overall design integrity

       Provide technical support to the Proposals team

       Provide support to testing and manufacturing inspections

       Report on key engineering deliverables (forecast man-hours, work pack completion dates, major bought-outs etc.)

       Ensure that the design meets all customer specifications, industry standards and codes

       Ensure that technical aspects of documentation meet the project requirements

       Achieve milestone dates

       Invoice approval.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Demonstrable experience in a project engineering role for similar engineering packages. 
  • Strong communication, negotiation, technical and organisational skills will be essential to the Project Engineer’s success.
  • Equipment used generally consists of large pressure vessels, pipework, structural steel, valves, and specialised hazardous area rated equipment such as pressure, temperature, level and flow instruments, connected to a control system. A background / experience of this environment is desirable.

Mainly an office-based role, but some travel to workshop in South Wales and to client sites is likely.
