Assistant Branch Manager – Automotive Parts

 

Salary: £20,000 to £21,000pa

Location: Cardiff

Duration: Perm

Hours: Monday Friday 08.30 - 17.30 with Saturday mornings on rota

Our client is a market leader in the design, manufacture and sale of trailers, trailer parts and all associated towing accessories/services. This nationwide automotive Trailer & Towbar company have a rare opportunity for a career minded Trainee Branch Manager to work at their branch in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to build a management career in the automotive parts industry, the successful candidate would be expected to progress to Branch Manager within 18 months. Management training and development provided.

Overall purpose of job:

To assist the Branch Manager and train to take responsibility for the daily operation/motivation of staff team, ensuring an excellent level of customer service is achieved by all members of staff at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maximizing branch/external sales and margin ensuring targets are achieved ensuring policies/procedures are followed.
  • Actively sell (face to face and over the telephone) and promote the company trailers / parts / associated equipment / services.
  • To gain market penetration of the company brand gaining new customers and retaining existing customers.
  • Control the stock of parts and finished trailers, within the agreed stocking/budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensure the Branch is kept clean, tidy, well presented and stocked including parts, trailers, leaflets.
  • Become familiar with all the products supplied by the company and to gain area penetration of these products by personal contact, telephone calls and promotions utilizing other members of staff where necessary.
  • To maintain a customer record system detailing sales, enquiries, follow-ups and general prospects.
  • Be a key holder for the Branch and respond to alarm call outs where necessary

Requirements:

  • Previous motor trade / automotive parts experience.
  • At least 12 months experience in a customer facing role eg. trade counter, parts advisor, service desk, etc.
  • Able to work to sales targets. 
  • Drive and determination with a willingness to learn
  • Full driving licence is essential
  • Towing licence Desirable.
