Working for a national engineering company who specialise is the design and supply of packaged process equipment; fuel gas treatment packages and metering systems for the Petrochemical Industry.

We are seeking an experienced Proposals Engineer to assist the Proposals Manager with all queries relating to Process products i.e. Fuel Gas Conditioning Units, Packaged Compressors and Produced Water Treatment systems, including development of scope and estimating costs.

DUTIES

• Interface and develop relationships with clients and their contractors during the bid development stages and participate in Bid Clarification Meetings.
• Co-ordinate various aspects of the process engineering, including design, planning and development
• Develop equipment designs using in-house programmes and HYSYS
• Develop Process Flow Diagrams and working P&IDs
• Prepare cost estimates
• Assist in the development of processing plans, methods, designs, materials handling, manpower requirements, cost analysis and other areas, as appropriate
• Produce technical and commercial proposals for conceptual, budget and firm opportunities
• Review and interpret specifications, standards & regulations and project requirements
• Obtain / review quotations from suppliers and develop good working relationships
• Obtain technical input from engineers to ensure that bids meet clients' specifications and standards
• Assist in preparation of pre-qualification documents when required
• Liaise with Project personnel to ensure that we make what we have sold
• Participate in various other meetings inc. (Contract Review, Kick-off, Design, P&ID & GA Review, Sub-contract Pre-Inspection , HAZOP & HAZID and Close-Out Meetings)

KEY REQUIREMENTS

· Experience of developing equipment designs using in-house programmes and HYSYS

· Previous experience of preparing cost estimates

· Ability to review and interpret specifications, standards & regulations, and project specifications and interpret these for the purposes of producing bids for the customer.

· Chemical Engineering Degree (may consider Mechanical Degree's if there is sufficient HYSYS expereince)

· Oil & Gas Industry experience is most desirable
